Slide cart is Candy Rack's customizable cart drawer that can replace your store's default cart. It's designed to look native to your theme and is regularly updated with new capabilities.
Why use slide cart
Slide cart turns your cart drawer into a revenue surface, not just a list of items. If you're already running Candy Rack offers, it's the most natural place to put them — and it comes with a few things your theme's default cart drawer doesn't have:
Built-in upsell slots. Drop Candy Rack offers directly into the cart using the Embedded block (slide cart) placement. Upsells appear right where customers are already deciding whether to check out.
Rewards bar for AOV. Show a progress tracker toward a free-shipping or free-gift threshold that updates in real time as items are added. A proven way to nudge order value upward.
Designed to feel native. Adjust colors, typography, corner radius, image ratio, button styles, and every piece of copy — or drop in custom CSS for full control. slide cart should look like part of your theme, not a bolt-on.
How to enable slide cart
Open the slide cart section in your Candy Rack admin.
Configure the cart messaging, layout and design to fit your needs.
Use Preview mode (see below) to confirm it looks right on your store.
Activate slide cart. Once enabled, it will replace your theme's default cart drawer on the storefront.
If you don't see the slide cart on your storefront, try to deactivate your theme's or third-party cart drawers.
With slide cart activated, you can adjust styling, localization, the Rewards bar, and upsell placements using the sections below.
Upsell offers in slide cart
Upsell and cross-sell offers presented in the slide cart block are one of the best-performing placements, and we highly recommend using them. They represent the last chance for customers to edit their order before entering the checkout, and they feel completely native and unintrusive.
How to add upsell offers to your slide cart:
In the Candy Rack dashboard, click Create offer and set it up as needed.
Choose placement: Embedded block (slide cart).
Go to Slide cart > Embedded block offers and configure the block design and layout. We recommend using List layout of offers which is more native on mobile devices (vertical scroll).
All eligible offers will appear in the slide cart, stacked according to your targeting rules.
Note: the Embedded block (slide cart) placement only works inside the Candy Rack slide cart — it won't render inside slide carts provided by your theme or other apps. See Offer placements for the full list of placements available in Candy Rack.
Rewards bar
The Rewards bar is a progress tracker that sits at the top of slide cart, showing customers how much more they need to spend to unlock a reward — typically free shipping or a gift. It updates in real time as items are added to the cart and is designed to nudge average order value upward.
Important: The Rewards bar is a visual motivational tool. It does not automatically apply discounts, free shipping, or add products to the cart. You need to configure those rules in your Shopify Shipping or Discount settings, and make sure the minimum purchase amount you enter in Candy Rack matches the threshold in Shopify exactly. If the two don't match, customers will see misleading messaging.

Terms & conditions checkbox
Slide cart also allows you to collect consent from your customers before entering the checkout. Simply enable it by going to the Terms and conditions item in the menu.
You can configure the texts, including link to your T&Cs and whether the consent is required (checkbox visible), or not (checkbox hidden).
Localization
Translate slide cart into any language. Click More actions → Manage translations. Candy Rack integrates with Shopify's Translate & Adapt.
Preview
You can test slide cart in your store without publishing it in two ways:
Use Preview mode from the slide cart admin page (top right).
Or append
?candyrack-slider-cart-preview=trueto any storefront URL. This is useful for sharing a live preview link with teammates before you activate slide cart.
