Rewards bar

The Rewards bar is a visual progress tracker designed to boost your Average order value (AOV). It motivates customers by showing them exactly how much more they need to spend to unlock a reward, such as free shipping or a gift.

How it works

The bar appears at the top of Slide cart and updates in real-time as customers add items.

Important: The Rewards bar is currently a visual motivational tool. It does not automatically apply discounts, free shipping, or add products to the cart. You must ensure these rules (like a free shipping rate) are configured in your Shopify Shipping or Discount settings to match your Reward Bar goals.

Configuration

To set up the Rewards bar, navigate to the Slide cart section in Candy Rack and select Rewards bar from the menu:

  • Minimum purchase amount: Enter the total spend required to reach the goal.

  • Text before reward: Customize the message shown while the customer is still shopping. Use the {{amount}} placeholder to dynamically show the remaining balance.

  • Text after reward: Enter the success message displayed once the goal is reached.

  • Design & Style: Adjust the font size, text colors, and the color of the progress bar to match your store’s branding.

  • Sticky reward bar: Enable this to keep the progress bar fixed at the top of the cart even when customers scroll through a long list of items.

Best practices

  • Free shipping: This is the most effective way to use the Rewards bar. Ensure your Shopify shipping settings reflect the same "Minimum purchase amount" you set in Candy Rack.

  • Free gifts: You can use the bar to promote a gift (e.g., "Spend $100 for a free gift!"), but remember that customers must currently add the gift to their cart manually, or you must handle the gifting logic through another method.
