Order weight error when exporting from Shopify to Zasilkovna

Zasilkovna requires sending order weight with every parcel imported to their system via either API or CSV.

To ensure this, the Zasilkovna connector app sums all the product variant weights in order and sends the information to the Zasilkovna admin.

Check if you added weight to every product variant

The most common issue is that the weight was added only to one variant per product, thinking that the weight stands for all the variants within one product, but Shopify needs to have weight for every variant.

How to edit variant weight in Shopify

Set the variants' weight in the product detail

You can edit variant weight in the product detail like on the screenshots below:

After you opened settings for a specific variant, you need to add the weight for each and every one of them.

Set the variants' weight in the bulk editor

  1. Go to the Products section in Shopify

  2. Mark products that you want to edit

  3. Click on Bulk edit

  4. Click on Columns and select Weight

  5. Fill in weights for specific variants

  6. Don't forget to click on Save after you finish editing

What to Do If You Encounter an Order Weight Error During Export

If you receive an error during the export of orders to Packeta, follow these steps:

  • Identify and Correct the Error:
    Open the problematic order and locate the product or variant where the weight is missing or incorrect. Update the weight according to the instructions provided earlier in the guide.

  • Re-export the Order:
    After the correction, re-export the order. This time, you must use a CSV file, as exporting via the API will not work for this case. Follow the steps outlined in this tutorial for CSV export.
