If you see the error This carrier requires package size information. when exporting an order to Packeta via API, it means the selected carrier requires the parcel's width, height, and depth — and these were not included in the export file.
Why this happens
Some Packeta carrier partners (typically third-party carriers and certain home-delivery services) require package dimensions in addition to weight. Shopify's order data doesn't carry parcel dimensions — it only exports the total order weight. So when the app builds the export and the carrier requires dimensions, the API call fails with this error.
Fix: Set default package dimensions in the app
Open General settings in the Packeta app and fill in average dimensions for the box you typically use:
Width
Height
Depth
These values will be sent with every API export from now on, and carriers that require dimensions will accept the shipment. If you ship in several different box sizes, pick values that reflect your most common package — this is by far the most practical solution.
Once saved, re-export the failed order. The export should go through without the error.
Alternative: Export via CSV and fill in dimensions in Packeta
If you'd rather enter the exact dimensions manually for each order:
Export the affected order via Export to Zasilkovna (Packeta) — CSV instead of API.
Open the parcel in your Packeta account under Unfinished Parcels.
Fill in the exact width, height, and depth, then save and submit.
Print the label from Posted Parcels.
⚠️ With the CSV route, the tracking number will not sync back to Shopify automatically. You will need to add it to the order manually if you want customers to see it in their order confirmation emails.
For most stores, the default-dimensions approach in the app is faster and keeps automatic tracking number sync working — the CSV route is mainly useful when a single order genuinely needs unusual dimensions.
