How upsell offer targeting works

Candy Rack allows you to target specific products or collections with upsell offers, giving you control over where and when your offers appear. This helps you align your upselling strategy with your store’s goals.

You can choose from the following targeting options in the Displays for section:

  • All products

  • Specific products

  • Specific collections

Learn more about each option below.

All products

If you select All products, the upsell offer will be triggered by every product in your store.

  • For pop-ups, the offer will appear whenever a customer clicks the Add to Cart button.

  • For embedded placements on product pages, the offer will be displayed on every product page.

This option is ideal if you want to maximize visibility and offer consistency across your store.

Specific products

With Specific products, the upsell offer will only be triggered for the products or product variants you select.

  • This option is useful when you want to target high-margin items or specific products that pair well with other products.

  • You can select individual products or variants directly from your product catalog.

Specific collections

With Specific collections, the upsell offer will only appear for products that belong to the selected collections.

  • Collections allow you to group products based on shared attributes, such as brand, material, or style.

  • For example, you could create a collection for "Outdoor Gear" that includes tents, backpacks, and hiking boots. An upsell offer targeting this collection would appear for any product within it.

This option is useful for promoting related products across specific collections.

Advanced targeting

If you need more precise targeting, you can use Additional conditions to define rules for when offers are shown. This allows you to create highly customized upsell strategies based on product attributes.

Advanced targeting is currently only available for the Pop-up for Product pages.

How does it work?

  1. Enable Additional conditions in the offer settings.

  2. Set the conditions based on product details or stock levels.

Available conditions

You can target offers based on the following product/collection attributes:

  • Product title

  • Product type

  • Product vendor

  • Product price

  • Product tag

  • Collection title

  • Weight

  • Inventory stock

  • Variant's title

Examples

Targeting specific product or collection titles

If you want to upsell antique drawers to customers looking for antique furniture, you can set the following conditions:

Product title

contains

antique

Collection title

contains

antique

Variant's title

contains

antique

Negative targeting based on stock levels

If you only want to offer a service for products with high stock availability, you can set the following conditions:

Inventory stock

is greater than

100

Matching rules

You can choose how the conditions are applied:

  • Must match all conditions - The offer will only appear if all the defined conditions are met.

  • Must match any condition - The offer will appear if any of the defined conditions are met.

Once you're done, click Save and see how the offer works live on your store.
