Gift Box may edit an order after purchase when its post‑purchase validation detects that the order did not actually qualify for a free gift. In those cases, the app removes the ineligible gift from the order.
Why a non‑qualifying gift can slip through at checkout
This is rare, but it can happen when:
Gift Box doesn’t evaluate the cart in time and the customer reaches checkout with a free gift despite not meeting the conditions.
The gift was in stock during checkout, but sold out after the order was completed.
The customer applies a discount code at checkout that lowers the cart value so it no longer meets the free‑gift condition.
How validation works
For every order, Gift Box performs a post‑purchase validation after the order is created (it’s technically not possible to do this during checkout).
The app checks whether the free‑gift conditions were met.
If the conditions were not met, Gift Box edits the order and removes the gift.
