How Gift Box handles out-of-stock gifts

Gift Box reads your store’s inventory in real time and shows gift availability based on that data.

The app syncs each Gift Box “ghost” product with its parent product to determine eligibility, ensuring that only eligible products are displayed as gifts.

Best Practices for Configuring Products for the Gift Box

  • Regularly monitor inventory levels for products included in Gift Box offers.

  • Enable the "sell when out of stock" option for products you want to remain visible even when inventory is zero.

Behavior with out‑of‑stock products

  • If a product selected as a gift goes out of stock while the offer is active, Gift Box will not display it on your store.

  • Exception: If the product has Shopify’s “Continue selling when out of stock” enabled, the gift can still be shown and selected.

If eligible products still don’t appear in the Gift Box popup, try disabling and re-enabling Gift Box offers one at a time to resync eligibility. Additionally, verify that products are either in stock or configured to sell when out of stock.
