Typically, customers buy a single item of the upsell product. That's why we have also limited discounts, so they are always used only for a single product (as per the screenshot below). It's the so-called Buy X Get Y with a discount approach.
If you want to allow your customers to buy more than one of the upsells with the same discount, follow the steps in this article. Essentially you will achieve this if a customer buys 1+ of upsell product:
Or this if a customer buys different upsell products:
➡️ Step 1 – Create Bundle Product offer
Skip this step if you have the offer already created.
Go to Candy Rack dashboard and click on New Offer. Select Product Upsell and click on Select.
Setup a percentage discount as follows (of course the percentage volume is up to you):
Finish the offer setup and save it.
➡️ Step 2 – Change the discount coupon type
Go to Discounts and find the discount code that is applied to your existing upsell offer.
Click on it and edit the Discount type from Buy X Get Y to Percentage and update the Discount value.
➡️ Step 3 – Add all upsell products to the discount
Stay in the same discount as in Step 2 or go to Discounts and find the relevant discount code from the list.
Find the section Applies to, which defines to which item will the discount apply. Select the option Specific Products. Add all other upsell products you want to share the same % discount.
Save the discount coupon and go to your store to test it.
➡️ Step 4 – Update Candy Rack with the relevant discount coupon
Once you have all products that you want to upsell with the shared discount coupon selected in the discount coupon configuration, get back to Candy Rack and apply the same discount percentage and the same name of discount coupon to the other upsells that you need to have discounted too.
⚠️ Important Note
Make sure to repeat steps 3 & 4 for all existing Product Upsells. I.e. if you are offering 4 upsell products on the pop-up, you will need to update the shared discount coupon with the upsell products and afterwards update Candy Rack with that discount amount and name of shared discount coupon.
If you edit the offer in Candy Rack the relevant discount settings will be reset and you will need to perform steps 3 & 4 again.
